I remember a client of mine on our very first call together told me she just wanted to be normal and she just wanted her life normal.
I hear this a lot.
I quickly corrected her. I find it quite an achievement to be as abnormal as possible according to the world’s standards!
What is normal in our society?
Normal is suffering emotionally – anxiety and depression are as common as a housefly, believing your dreams were just for childhood play, or that life is devoid of purpose beyond making sure the bills are paid and the dog is fed. Just getting by another day- that’s normal living. Going through the motions. Trying to fit into impossible false worth categories, you know the ones – if I only looked like this, if I only weighed this, if I only had this, if I only drove this, and so on….
It’s normal to be unhappy.
It’s normal to be in unnecessary suffering.
It’s normal to be a slave of this world.
It’s normal….
….and I want nothing to do with it!
We live in a quid pro quo society.
Society: Give me your soul (mind, will, & emotions) and you can have this “thing” you think you want that will never bring you true joy anyways. In fact, you’ll become a slave to “more” when you realize “this” wasn’t enough after all.
And then enter in the cycle of “If I only had this, was this, did this…..” that leads to imprisonment, devoid of true joy, soul health and prospering, and freedom.
Don’t strive for ordinary.
Heal and transform into extraordinary living.
P.S. that client I mentioned… after she kicked some nasty emotional suffering patterns to the curb (stress, worry, anxiety, depression…), healed the soul wounds, transformed the inner world, she actually ended up in a place in life that she didn’t even know were possible. New success, true freedom, and real joy!
Life still has it’s challenges at times, as life will. But she’s no longer the paper doll version of herself that blows easily in the slightest wind. She’s strong, she’s rooted in Truth, and try as you might…. she won’t bow to anything but God ever again.
She’s as abnormal as it comes to society’s standards, and guess what…. she’s loving every minute of it.
Won’t you join us?
